On to the next lesson… The Carpet Design. Some people call it matting, Others say matting is the same as Right Angle Weave (Tutorial is coming soon)… It’s all a little bit complicated.
Unlike the first design; Bead in Bead, This is a whole lot harder. There’s passing the needle here to the left and then to the right. The key is to Let your Crystal bead rest on the Circle. A word of advice tho, Look Carefully at how I place my needle and into how many beads, i used an arrow to point them out but you also need to be extra careful. The picture above is a more complex design than this:
Thanks so much Enyce for the picture??
I did give the steps involved if you want to enlarge the design like the first picture but if you just want to do the simpler green one. Mind your business till you have done half the neck length then check where I taught the V Shape of the Carpet bead design. I didn’t make up to half the neck.
Enough talk, let’s get started on the Carpet bead design:
- Crystal Beads (Preferably size 6)
- Seed Beads (Preferably size 2)
- 0.25 fishing line
- Beading Needles
SB stands for seed bead and CRY stands for Crystal…
If your Crystal doesn’t rest on the circle, you put in the wrong set of seed beads??
Pick up 9sb to complete your circle of 12
This is where I got tired of editing the pictures singly?
Watch the way I moved the needle and the sets of the bead i passed through.
Here you need 6sb to complete your circle of 12.
Note the ARROWS
If you want to make the simpler one (the green design), Ignore this part and continue the previous steps till you get to half your neck’s length.
Ignore this part still if you are working on the simpler design
Na here my power stop. The next step(bottom right side) is gonna show you how to form the V Shape
Note the direction of the needle
If you were minding your business, yours should be 4×4 and not 6×6
There you have it. Continue with the other half of the neck…?
Phew… I told you it was a little more complicated.
